Well….I THINK winter is here in central Ohio….or at least it comes and goes! Never the less, those that are Homeless struggle to adjust. Even tho some days and nights are relatively mild…you have to admit that sleeping outside would be more than uncomfortable!
Share Continues Preparing …
for those cold days and nights teaching others to make Sleeping Bags for the Homeless out of donated materials and clean used bedding.
This winter Share finds itself in many schools, talking with students…discussing Homelessness…sharing ideas and encouraging them to respond. They are involving themselves by learning to make Sleeping Bags, collecting supplies for the Health Kits and making an effort to understand the problem and how they can make a difference in the lives of others. Many churches and individuals continue to show their support and care also. Again, it’s been hectic but a very special time getting to know people that care about people enough to do something! We continue building Community!
GREAT NEWS! For those of you who like numbers, Share has delivered 543 Health Kits and 55 Sleeping Bags in the last 11 weeks (and that doesn’t include the Sleeping Bags made by our two other groups!) Imagine the impact they make on the streets!
Our Health Kits have been greatly appreciated by those who are in need of taking care of their personal needs.
May We Offer Some Suggestions?
- If you shop at Sam’s Club , consider picking up a case of Sam’s Club Brand (Simply Right) baby wipes. For just $14.48 you can get 810 wipes! (Imagine living in the woods and not having toilet paper!)
- When you visit your dentist, ask him for Toothpaste!
Take a look at our Health Kit list to see what you might be able to do!
We are very thankful for all of your help. Truly! We can’t do this alone. God continues to work thru you to reach hurting and Homeless people.
Thank you…
love, Donna
